Job summary

Milwaukee Rescue Mission is seeking a part-time Visitor Experience Safety & Security Officer to blend hospitality with professional safety duties in the Visitor’s lobby of Central Campus, Milwaukee.

This front-facing role greets visitors, directs them to the proper service area, and supports campus safety with patrols, monitoring, and response to alarms as needed. Evening and weekend hours are required.

Qualifications

• Mature Christian with a servant’s heart and ability to relate to a diverse population.
• Minimum 2 years in customer service, hospitality, concierge, reception, or security-related roles preferred.
• Outstanding customer service skills with an approachable, friendly demeanor.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills; able to de-escalate and communicate clearly.
• Comfortable with surveillance and access control systems; able to operate safety tech.
• Capable of heavy lifting up to 55 lbs and performing physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols and inspections to identify safety or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control during shifts.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies, coordinating with responders as needed.
• Escort staff and guests to vehicles after dark when requested.
• Greet visitors warmly and direct them to appropriate departments or services.
• Assist with screening and handling donated items in the lobby and donation areas.
