Job summary

The Gathering of Southeast WI, Inc. invites applications for a Part-Time Gatekeeper at the 1300 W Fond du Lac meal site in Milwaukee.

This role supports safety, hospitality, and site operations, serving as the first point of contact for guests and volunteers with professionalism and dignity. Responsibilities include monitoring entrances, assisting with logistics, coordinating with staff, and maintaining cleanliness while upholding confidentiality and trauma-informed interaction standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced setting.
• Remain calm in stressful situations while assisting guests and volunteers.
• Strong interpersonal communication and professionalism at all times.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety and maintain a welcoming environment for guests, volunteers, and staff.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures and site logistics as needed.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to the Hub Manager promptly.
• Support guest flow, acknowledge guests with dignity, and de-escalate when necessary.
• Assist volunteers and staff, rotate stock, and help with donations as assigned.
• Document incidents and maintain confidentiality of guests and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of common areas, restrooms, and storage spaces.
• Remain dependable, punctual, and follow organizational policies.
