Job summary

Penn State University seeks a part‑time Visitor Services Associate for the Palmer Museum of Art. Hours are part-time with evening and weekend shifts; familiarity with MS Office365, SharePoint, Excel, and Word is preferred. The starting pay is $15 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: Previous experience in a customer service role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including sensitivity to multiculturalism and diversity.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of people, including students, faculty, staff, community members, and volunteers.
• Experience with Microsoft Office365, SharePoint, Excel, and Word.
• Experience in an arts, non-profit, or educational setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Check in visitors and provide a welcoming, helpful experience.
• Inform visitors about museum policies and current activities; promote programs and membership.
• Assist with wayfinding and conduct visitor surveys.
• Assist with cleaning/maintaining interactive displays and resources.
• Support museum events and coverage; assist visitors with Penn State inquiries.
