Chartwells K12 in Peekskill, NY seeks an innovative Chef to lead culinary operations for a premier K12 district. Reporting to the Director, you will drive menu development, ensure quality and safety, and foster a high-performance kitchen culture.

This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for menus, training, and daily operations. With two-plus years in culinary/kitchen management and a strong focus on health and sanitation, you will contribute to engaging, child-friendly meal

Qualifications

• Associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience.
• Two+ years of culinary/kitchen management experience, catering preferred.
• Hands-on chef experience with strong knowledge of food trends, quality, sanitation, and portion control.

Responsibilities

• Develops regular and specialty menus in line with K12 standards.
• Trains kitchen staff in food preparation, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
• Maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and work areas.
• Manages inventory of food and supplies, ensuring availability of vital products.
• Ensures compliance with health and sanitation regulations through audits and procedures.
• Participates in meetings and professional programs to stay current with industry trends.
• Performs other duties to support efficient dining service operations.
