Placements24 seeks a Lead Automotive Design Engineer to spearhead a remote team shaping interior and exterior vehicle aesthetics. You will translate concepts into production-ready designs, mentor designers, and guide cross-functional collaboration with engineering, marketing, and planning.

The role demands a strong portfolio of exterior and interior work, leadership experience, and expert proficiency in Alias, CATIA, and Blender.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of progressive automotive design experience with a strong portfolio.
Proven leadership or team-management experience.
Proficiency in Alias, CATIA, Blender, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of automotive designers through the full design process.
Develop innovative exterior and interior concepts aligned with brand identity and trends.
Create high-quality renderings, 3D models, and prototypes to communicate design intent.
Collaborate with engineering, product planning, and marketing to ensure feasible, market-ready designs.
Oversee development of design specifications and ensure correct production implementation.
Conduct design reviews and present concepts to senior management; incorporate feedback.
Stay ahead of design trends, technologies, and material innovations in automotive design.
Ensure designs meet safety, aerodynamics, and manufacturing constraints.
Manage design project timelines and resources in a remote team structure.
Foster creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the design team.
