Job summary

Indus Mind Networks is recruiting an experienced automotive packaging engineer to own mechanical architecture from concept to production. You will translate vehicle-level requirements into validated geometry, solving packaging constraints while meeting mass, structural, and cost targets, working remotely.

You will lead 3D CAD development for subsystems (body, chassis, or packaging) and ensure GD&T-compliant drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of automotive engineering design experience shipping production parts.
• Advanced modeling proficiency in CATIA (V5 or 3DEXPERIENCE) or Siemens NX.
• Demonstrated track record taking metallic and polymer structural components from initial packaging space through tooling freeze and PPAP.
• Exacting command of GD&T, kinematic packaging, fastener design, and vehicle assembly processes.
• Proven capacity to manage projects autonomously with distributed cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead 3D CAD development and detailed drafting for automotive subsystems (body, chassis, or packaging).
• Apply ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards to generate fully constrained drawings.
• Perform 1D and 3D tolerance stack-up analyses for fit across thermal and dynamic extremes.
• Collaborate with CAE teams to digest FEA, NVH, and crash results and iterate geometry.
• Coordinate with Tier 1 suppliers and internal manufacturing to resolve DFM/DFA constraints.
• Drive engineering release milestones, ECOs, and BOM accuracy within Teamcenter.
