Job summary

Anne Arundel County Public Schools' High Point Elementary in Pasadena, Maryland is seeking a Principal to administer and lead the school, aligning instructional programs with district goals and ensuring a safe, engaging learning environment.

The successful candidate will oversee staff, discipline, budget, and facilities, develop a SIP, collaborate with central office, and engage families and community partners to support student achievement.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required.
• Doctoral degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university preferred.
• Three (3) years relevant experience as a school-based administrator required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate the effectiveness of all school personnel; report and monitor employees not meeting contractual requirements.
• Define the school’s mission and communicate goals of the total school program.
• Provide instructional leadership for curriculum alignment through observation and evaluation of teachers.
• Create and monitor a monthly meeting calendar for collaboration and a culture focused on rigor and learning.
• Coordinate the instructional program with central office staff and supervise the program.
• Improve instructional practices through evaluation of teachers.
• Lead and direct continuous school improvement.
• Develop a SIP supporting the district’s plan and state growth measures.
• Monitor student achievement using technology and multiple data sources.
• Engage community stakeholders in shared responsibility for student learning and school success.
• Cultivate a positive culture for learning across diverse communities.
• Create and implement school-wide supervision plans for safety and order.
• Develop procedures and drills for emergencies and disasters.
• Pursue professional activities that foster leadership development.
• Administer and coordinate school discipline in a fair and consistent manner.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
