Job summary

TheraPeds Partners seeks a dedicated TVI for a part-time, school-based role in West Dundee, IL. The position involves direct and consultative services to students who are visually impaired, focusing on independence and access to the educational environment.

The candidate should have a Special Education degree and Illinois Visual Impairments credential, with experience in IEP development, assessments, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Special Education or related field.
• Current/eligible Illinois Education Specialist Instruction Credential - Visual Impairments.
• Meets Illinois Basic Skills Requirement.
• Experience with students who are blind/visually impaired.
• School-based experience preferred.
• Experience with high school/transition-age students is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and consultative services for students who are blind/visually impaired.
• Develop and monitor IEPs with appropriate accommodations.
• Conduct educational and vision-related assessments.
• Monitor progress toward IEP goals and document outcomes.
• Support access to curriculum, materials, and assistive tech.
• Participate in IEP/ETO meetings and collaborate with teams.
• Provide guidance to staff on instructional strategies.
