Job summary

TheraPeds Partners is seeking a dedicated TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) for a school-based, on-site role in Elgin, IL. The position involves direct and consultative services, IEP development, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Special Education and appropriate visual impairment credentials with experience in school settings. This is a full-time, on-site role with guaranteed hours and support from the district and TheraPeds Partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field is required.
• Current or eligible California Education Specialist Instruction Credential – Visual Impairments is required.
• Experience with students who are blind or visually impaired is needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and consultative educational services to students who are blind or visually impaired.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs).
• Conduct educational and vision-related assessments within TVI scope.
• Evaluate student progress toward IEP goals and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, therapists, and team members to support student access to curriculum and materials.
• Document and report progress; participate in IEP meetings and MDT meetings.
