Job summary

ISO Workforce Alliance is seeking a dedicated TVI to join a supportive school district in Evanston, Illinois. This part-time position offers the opportunity to help students with visual impairments develop essential academic and life skills in the classroom and beyond.

The TVI will provide direct vision services, collaborate with families and staff, and support IEP goals while maintaining compliant documentation and meeting district expectations.

Qualifications

• Candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or related field.
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) required.
• Endorsement/licensure as TVI or eligibility to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and consultative vision services to students with visual impairments.
• Develop and implement IEPs aligned with each student’s needs.
• Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments as appropriate.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, families to ensure student success.
• Teach compensatory skills, assistive technology, Braille instruction when appropriate.
• Maintain documentation, progress reports, and state/district compliance.
• Participate in IEP meetings and team discussions.
