Job summary

TheraPeds Partners seeks a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a school-based position in Elgin, Illinois. The role is on-site with guaranteed hours and a 37–39 hour work week across Sept 2026–May 2027.

The TVI will provide specialized instruction, participate in IEP meetings, and collaborate with educators, families, and related professionals to promote student access and independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Current or eligible California Education Specialist Instruction Credential - Visual Impairments.
• Meets California's Basic Skills Requirement.
• Experience with students who are blind or visually impaired.
• School-based experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students who are blind or visually impaired.
• Develop and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs).
• Conduct educational and vision-related assessments within TVI scope.
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and other professionals.
• Support access to curriculum, materials, and technology.
