Atkins & Pearce, Inc. is seeking a Vision and Controls Engineer to design, program, and support machine vision inspection systems and PLC-based controls across our Kentucky plant.

You will lead projects from concept through installation, validation, and production support, coordinating with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Operations to improve quality and performance. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with machine vision and dimensional inspection systems such as ZEISS, Keyence, Cognex, FARO, or similar preferred.
• Strong experience with Ladder Logic and Structured Text on PLC platforms (Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Omron, AutomationDirect, Mitsubishi).
• Knowledge of industrial electrical schematics and CAD modeling is beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Program, calibrate, and troubleshoot machine vision systems (ZEISS, Keyence, Cognex, FARO).
• Develop automated inspection apps for defect detection and dimensional verification.
• Configure cameras, lighting, and pass/fail criteria for inspections.
• Integrate vision with PLCs and SCADA for data transfer and alarms.
• Own projects from concept through installation and validation.
• Provide training to operators and maintenance staff.
