Job summary

Elica Health Centers is seeking an Optometric Technician to join our growing vision clinic in California. You will perform pre-exam testing, assist the optometrist, and handle front-desk tasks including scheduling and insurance verification.

The role requires at least 1 year of experience with optometric testing, EPIC EHR, and HIPAA compliance. Strong customer service and bilingual abilities are highly valued in this community-focused setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an Optometric Technician.
• Knowledge of optometric equipment and testing best practices.
• Previous experience with EPIC preferred.
• Insurance verification experience preferred.
• Understand and maintain HIPAA privacy standards.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and vision insurance plans preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary and ancillary testing (auto-refraction, automated visual field screenings, visual acuity).
• Assist optometrist with referrals and other duties.
• Clean exam rooms and labs between patient visits.
• Maintain equipment inventory and restock exam rooms.
• Assist with patient intake, scheduling, insurance verification, and payments.
