Job summary

Elica Health Centers in California is seeking an Optometric Technician to support a fast-paced clinical and optical setting within a Federally Qualified Health Center. You’ll perform tests, assist the optometrist, manage patient intake, and verify insurance while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

The role requires at least 1 year of relevant experience and a High School diploma or GED. Bilingual abilities are strongly preferred to serve our diverse patient population.

Qualifications

• Perform preliminary and ancillary testing before the optometrist visit.
• Assist with a variety of duties within the vision clinic and verify insurance.
• Maintain infection control standards and clean exam rooms.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EPIC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary and ancillary testing on patients prior to seeing the optometrist.
• Assist with referrals and scheduling; verify insurance details as needed.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and restock exam rooms.
• Coordinate with optical labs and pharmacies as required.
