Job summary

Walmart Vision Center in Rolling Meadows, IL, seeks an experienced Optical Department Leader to drive sales growth through merchandising, pricing accuracy and inventory oversight. You will forecast trends, align assortments to local demographics, and coordinate with labs and optometrists to fulfill orders, while upholding HIPAA and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Option 1: Completion of 2 or more years of college.
• Option 2: 1 year's retail experience and 1 year's supervisory experience.
• Option 3: 2 years' general work experience, including 1 year's optical experience and high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Meets eligibility requirements to work in the Vision Center, including minimum age of 18, certification, registration, licensure, and other qualifications required by company policy and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Leads department sales growth through merchandising, pricing accuracy and inventory oversight.
• Forecasts sales trends and aligns assortments with customer needs and local patterns.
• Oversees precise eyewear measurements, fittings, and contact lens education under supervision.
• Leads, coaches and develops the optical team through hiring, training, and performance management.
• Ensures HIPAA confidentiality and patient documentation compliance.
• Coordinates with labs, suppliers, and optometrists regarding orders and corrective actions.
