Job summary

Walmart Vision Center in Appleton, WI is seeking an Optical Department Leader to drive department growth through effective merchandising, pricing accuracy, inventory oversight, and seasonal execution. You will forecast trends, align assortments with local demographics, and monitor pricing to achieve targets.

You will also lead a team, supervise fittings and measurements under optometric supervision, ensure HIPAA compliance, and coordinate with labs and providers to deliver high-quality eyewear

Qualifications

• Completion of 2+ years of college.
• 1 year retail experience and 1 year supervisory experience.
• 2 years' general work experience, including 1 year's optical experience and high school diploma/GED/equivalent.
• Meets eligibility requirements to work in the Vision Center.
• Experience with insurance processing and electronic health records.

Responsibilities

• Lead department sales growth through merchandising, pricing accuracy, inventory oversight, and seasonal execution.
• Forecast sales trends and align assortments with customer needs and local demographics.
• Monitor competitive pricing and adjust strategies to meet financial targets.
• Oversee optical measurements, fittings, and patient education under supervision.
• Develop team through hiring, training, and performance management.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation.
