Job summary

MyEyeDr. seeks an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by performing preliminary testing and measurements and documenting patient history. No optical experience required; training and tools will be provided to deliver a best-in-class vision care experience.

You will work with doctors and staff to ensure smooth patient flow, train patients on contact lenses when applicable, and help create a comfortable, detail-oriented environment. Some weekend/evening shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with ability to understand basic math
• Personable and patient with ability to comfort patients during screening
• Detail oriented and able to work with the Optometrist
• Willingness to learn about industry, products, and services
• Collaborative team player focused on patient experience
• Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but training provided

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document conditions, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff throughout appointment
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to be exposed during appointment
• Learn to use all pretest equipment to perform visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience
