Job summary

FoundCare Inc. is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support optometrists with patient exams, testing, education, dispensing, and admin tasks.

You will help maintain efficient clinic operations and accurate patient records while delivering excellent customer service throughout the patient experience. Responsibilities include preparing patients, performing diagnostic tests, assisting with contact lens fittings, processing eyewear orders, and supporting team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of eye anatomy and vision care terminology.
• Ability to operate diagnostic ophthalmic equipment safely.
• Experience with EHR systems preferred.
• Experience with optical dispensing and patient scheduling preferred.
• Not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary patient assessments and testing.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for evaluation.
• Perform diagnostic tests as directed by optometrist.
• Administer ophthalmic medications under supervision.
• Assist with contact lens fittings and patient education.
• Educate patients on eye health and eyewear care.
• Assist with frame and lens selection and order processing.
• Dispense eyeglasses and maintain the optical area.
• Maintain equipment, infection control, and stock supplies.
• Document in EHR and manage appointment flow.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth patient care.
• Attend meetings and participate in quality improvements.
