Responsibilities include measurements, frame adjustments, insurance verifications, and maintaining an organized, welcoming optical department. ABO certification is preferred, with opportunities for growth in a private practice setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Previous Optician experience is preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Sales experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and professional appearance.
• Computer proficiency and ability to multitask are expected.
• ABO Certification or willingness to obtain certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients into the optical department and assist with frame and lens selection.
• Interpret eyeglass prescriptions and recommend frames, lenses, and enhancements.
• Take measurements including PD, segment heights, and optical center.
• Verify prescriptions and ensure eyewear meets quality standards before dispensing.
• Perform frame adjustments and minor repairs; coordinate warranty repairs when needed.
• Process eyewear orders and maintain accurate patient records.
• Verify vision benefits and assist with insurance processes.
• Maintain attractive displays and keep the optical department organized.
