Job summary

Triangle Visions Chapel Hill is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to manage daily administrative duties, greet patients, coordinate appointments, and ensure a seamless flow between doctors and support staff.

You will handle scheduling, patient communications, insurance eligibility, and maintain HIPAA compliance while contributing to a patient-first culture in a busy optometry practice.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year strong customer service skills (internal/ external).
• Strong communicator and listener.
• Problem solving ability.
• Experience in healthcare.
• Familiarity with in-store technology, such as point-of-sale, patient record systems, and other software applications.
• Basic knowledge of services, products, vision insurance plans/coverage and office operations.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients without delay.
• Promptly answers the telephone in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Schedules appointments in person or by phone to optimize patient satisfaction and provider time.
• Notifies doctor/provider of patient arrival and maintains schedule adherence.
• Facilitates reminder calls for appointment confirmation and pickup notifications.
• Maintains confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information (HIPAA).
