Job summary

Visionworks of America seeks an OD Tech/Optometric Assistant in Merrillville, IN to be the welcoming face of our exam practice. You’ll assist with preliminary testing, eye health knowledge, and guide patients from check-in to the exam while ensuring a simple, human experience.

This part-time role offers opportunities to support the store, restock, maintain equipment, and help educate patients about products and services that meet their eye care needs.

Qualifications

• Related customer or patient experience preferred, but not necessary.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducing preliminary testing.
• Introduce patient to OD and provide OD with important patient information.
• Transition patient from doctor to sales floor and provide associates necessary information.
• Execute day-to-day operational activities to support the store's exam lane maintenance and patient experience goals.
