Job summary

Visionworks is seeking an OD Tech/Optometric Assistant in a part-time role to be the face of our Exam Practice, guiding patients through preliminary testing and introducing them to the OD. You will help transition patients from doctor to sales floor and support exam lane operations to ensure a smooth, human experience.

The role emphasizes eye health knowledge, patient service, and strong collaboration with team members in a fast-paced retail eye care setting.

Qualifications

• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Related customer or patient experience preferred, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducing preliminary testing
• Introduce patient to OD and provide OD with important patient information
• Transition patient from doctor to sales floor and provide associates necessary information to educate and recommend products and services that meet their eye care needs
• Execute day-to-day operational activities to support the store's exam lane maintenance and patient experience goals including: restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to meet additional patient needs
• Will open/close the store/office to support business as needed
