Job summary

Visionworks in Lafayette, IN is seeking an OD Tech/Optometric Assistant to be the face of our exam practice, guiding patients through the eye care journey with a friendly, human approach.

The role conducts preliminary testing knowledgeably, maintains patient records, and transitions patients to sales staff. This is a part-time position with competitive benefits and flexible store hours to support patient care.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED or equivalent
• Customer service experience preferred but not required
• Willingness to learn eye health basics and testing procedures

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing
• Introduce patient to OD and relay important information
• Guide patient from exam room to sales floor with product education
• Support store operations: restocking, cleaning equipment, answering phones
• Open/close the store as needed to support business hours
