Job summary

Visionworks in Merrillville, Indiana, seeks a friendly OD Tech/Optometric Assistant to greet patients and support the exam flow. You’ll handle preliminary testing, patient records, and transition from doctor to sales while delivering a simple, human, and bold eye care experience.

No degree required but HS diploma or GED preferred; related customer or patient experience is welcome. Part-time role with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth in a busy optical practice.

• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducing preliminary testing
• Introduce patient to OD and provide OD with important patient information
• Transition patient from doctor to sales floor and provide associates necessary information to educate and recommend products and services
• Execute day-to-day operational activities to support the store's exam lane maintenance and patient experience goals including: restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to meet additional patient needs
• Will open/close the store/office to support business as needed
