Job summary

VSP Vision is seeking a patient-focused professional to assist the Optometrist during eye examinations and pre-testing. You will gather patient history, explain exam steps, and ensure a smooth clinical experience.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, operating instruments, instructing on contact lens handling, ordering lenses, administering medications, scribing for the doctor, and supporting front-desk tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• One to two years of experience in related field.
• Working knowledge of MS Office package.
• Effective verbal communication skills to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to inquiries.
• Effective written communication skills to document patient visits.
• Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
• Ability to ask questions to identify patient needs.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Optometrist with eye examinations and pre-testing.
• Operate clinical instruments and document patient information.
• Educate and train patients on contact lens insertion and removal.
• Order contact lenses and manage trials inventory.
• Administer topical ophthalmic and dilation medications.
• Scribe for the doctor and translate as needed.
• Prioritize patient care and patient flow with staff.
