Job summary

General Motors seeks an early-career Software Developer to join the Virtualization and SIL Integration team within the Software Defined Vehicle group. You will design, build, and deploy virtual test environments and co-simulation components to support embedded controllers across propulsion, battery, chassis, and body electronics domains.

You will work with mentorship from senior engineers, in an agile, cross-functional setting, and contribute to documentation and continuous improvement of tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/EE or related field.
• 2+ years software engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python, C/C++, Java, or Embedded C.
• Familiar with Git, Jira, and CI/CD concepts.
• Experience or coursework in AI/ML, DS, or Web app development.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate co-simulation components to meet end-user test needs.
• Build virtual controller models for use across simulations.
• Implement and test virtual components such as HWIO, RTOS, and comms models.
• Develop and parameterize subsystem models (sensors, actuators, ECU behavior).
• Collaborate with engineers to define feature requirements and implementations.
• Support documentation for releases and provide user guidance.
