Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to create virtual in-the-loop environments and integrate virtual ECU models for hybrid, EV, and propulsion systems. You will work with system-level simulations and co-simulations to validate controls and calibrations.

The role requires strong experience in Embedded C, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink, plus familiarity with GT-Power, AMESIM, and automotive communication protocols. Hybrid work arrangement applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or software field with 3 years of related experience.
• Experience with SiL co-simulations and virtual ECU models.
• Proficiency in Embedded C and Python; MATLAB/Simulink for plant model development.
• Experience with GT-Power and AMESIM; automated build tools like GCC, GDB, Eclipse, Jenkins, ETAS INCA.
• Familiarity with CAN, LIN, SPI; modeling of Hybrid Vehicle Systems in Simulink/Simscape/GT-Power.

Responsibilities

• Create virtual in-the-loop environments for EV and hybrid propulsion systems.
• Develop and integrate co-simulations with virtual ECU models.
• Parameterize sub-system models including sensors and actuators; integrate plant and ECU models.
• Document releases and provide user testing support.
