Job summary

General Motors LLC is seeking a Software Engineer for the Virtual Test Platforms team to define, implement, and support virtualization technologies that accelerate vehicle development and testing.

You will work across GM's embedded systems from controllers to infotainment, growing into a subject-matter expert in virtualized testing. The role emphasizes collaboration and delivering reliable software in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience automating testing of low level, embedded or mobile products at scale.

Responsibilities

• Configure and customize virtual test environments using KVM, QEMU, and Android Emulators.
• Integrate virtual test environments into developer inner-loop and CI/CD processes.
• Author virtual devices to enhance test coverage, including VirtIO drivers.
• Develop custom test tools and simulators to increase throughput and quality.
• Improve collection, parsing, and reporting of test results via dashboards.
• Write production-quality code, prototypes, and reference implementations.
• Create reusable guidance and documentation to scale knowledge across GM.
