H&R Block is seeking an experienced Virtual Tax Professional to remotely serve clients with diverse tax needs. You will work with an expert team, receive advanced tax training, and utilize digital tools to prepare accurate returns for individuals and small businesses.

You will conduct interviews via video/phone/chat, identify potential tax savings, and stay current with evolving tax laws. A collaborative, empathetic, and ethical approach is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Three years of tax preparation or review experience; degree preferred but equivalent education considered.
• Experience with IRS transcripts, amendments, and prior year return identification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on virtual collaboration across digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• Take a consultative approach to understand clients' financial goals, identifying potential tax savings and informing clients about Block products and services.
• Establish rapport and trust with clients with empathy, active listening, and commitment to their financial well-being.
• Conduct tax interviews to support clients through virtual tools (video, phone, chat, email).
• Review and complete accurate tax returns for individuals and small businesses in compliance with IRS regulations and Block standards.
• Analyze IRS transcripts to identify missed prior year filings or opportunities for amendments.
• Provide ethical, credible advice and handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
• Stay up-to-date with tax laws, tools, and technology; pursue ongoing training to improve tax expertise and customer service.
• Utilize Block’s digital tools to streamline the tax preparation process and enhance client experience.
• Foster a positive team environment by sharing knowledge and collaborating with staff to meet office goals.
