Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC’s Virtual Preparatory Academy of Oklahoma seeks a qualified Special Education leader to oversee services for diverse learners within a K-12 online public school in Oklahoma.

The role entails compliance, program development, staff training, and collaboration with state agencies to ensure high-quality education and accurate records. A strong data focus and RTI understanding are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree minimum; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Active Special Education License in Oklahoma.
• Proficient in MS Office, Google apps, email, and internet applications; strong verbal and written communication.
• Exhibit genuine care for children and a passion for teaching.
• Strong ability to analyze and interpret student data for educational decisions.
• Flexible with daily challenges and duties; team player attitude.
• Understanding of RTI processes and state testing standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversight and development of innovative special education services to meet diverse student needs and ensure quality and compliance.
• Lead as a member of the Administrative Staff to support school philosophy and staff training.
• Maintain all special education student records and files per timelines and guidelines.
• Suggest and develop new policies or changes essential to programs and compliance.
• Hold a reduced caseload of students and manage paperwork and service time.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to improve standardized and proficiency testing results.
• Assist in hiring and oversee training of Special Education staff.
• Act as point of contact with agencies providing related services and manage contracts.
