Stride, Inc. is hiring a virtual School Counselor for its K12 Private Academy. The role supports students’ academic, social, emotional, and career planning in a fully remote setting across the 50 states and Washington, D.C. Strong counseling credentials and experience with distance learning are important.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree with a Master’s in school counseling preferred, plus experience in education and customer service. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred in school counseling.
• Experience with distance learning is preferred.
• Experience in a customer service environment and familiarity with laws and mandated reporting is expected.

Responsibilities

• Plan for postsecondary options (education, military, employment).
• Guide college and career readiness for students and families.
• Meet quarterly with each student on caseload to review graduation plan.
• Review transcripts and other academic documentation for new and returning students.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to develop a four-year graduation plan and audits schedules for candidacy.
• Analyze student data and develop data-driven intervention programs.
• Provide short-term counseling and referrals for longer-term support.
• Support standardized testing and parent education; advocate in IEP meetings as needed.
• Travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development and assessments.
