Job summary

Guthrie Clinic seeks a Nursing Professional Development Specialist – Pulse Center (NPDS-PC) to lead education programs for staff, clients, and the community. The NPDS-PC applies adult learning theories, acts as a consultant, and collaborates with leaders to ensure high standards of nursing practice.

The role trains Guthrie and external staff on Pulse Center workflows, supporting clinical practice improvements and educational initiatives across the Guthrie system.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of clinical experience in acute care.
• MSN within 6 months of hire and degree completed within 3 years.
• Current RN licensure in PA and NY required; specialty certification preferred or pursued.
• Experience in nursing education or professional development is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and evaluate orientation programs for virtual staff.
• Manage ongoing staff competency assessments and in-services for new products and equipment.
• Collaborate with Pulse Center leadership to identify educational criteria to elevate nursing care.
• Support RQI training for AHA courses within the Pulse Center and educate staff.
• Represent nursing education at committees and coordinate interprofessional learning.
