Job summary

Commonwealth Charter Academy is hiring a Special Education Teacher for High School Learning Support. The role involves delivering specially designed instruction via a virtual platform, managing IEPs, and coordinating with families and school staff from a Family Service Center in Pennsylvania.

The teacher will work 40+ hours per week, travel for some meetings, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while collaborating with related service providers and school personnel.

Qualifications

• Must be certified to teach Special Education in Pennsylvania.
• Strong understanding of state standards and IEP processes.
• Experience teaching in online/virtual or hybrid environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as school-based special education case manager for designated caseload.
• Provide direct services and instruction to learners 1:1 or in small groups.
• Gather data, develop specially designed instruction, and monitor IEP goals.
• Coordinate IEP meetings in a virtual environment and maintain accurate data in LMS.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state timelines and regulations.
• Communicate with caretakers/learning coaches to deliver IEP services.
• Collaborate with related service providers on a weekly basis.
