Job Description

The Virtual Field Representative will be responsible for the commercialization of Vertex Pharmaceuticals therapies via teleconference and/or telephone to selected healthcare offices and providers. They will provide impactful key clinical information and educational materials as part of their remote engagements. VFRs will need to be flexible regarding job responsibilities, including white space coverage, vacant territory coverage, and partnering with Vertex employees to ensure stakeholder needs are addressed. The VFR will create positive virtual interactions and foster appropriate growth for the client’s products. They will possess excellent customer service skills, polished marketing and commercial acumen, and the ability to engage healthcare providers meaningfully, develop trusting relationships, and explain product features while addressing questions to ensure appropriate therapeutic use. They will also need to learn and communicate complex medical topics, industry compliance guidelines, Vertex programs, and pharmacy and insurance landscapes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned disease state and product training within required timeframes to develop a comprehensive understanding of the market, disease state, clinical information, and core selling messages.
  • Deliver approved, education-focused messages and disease-state information to healthcare professionals.
  • Partner with existing Vertex employees to build and execute business plans.
  • Enhance HCP awareness of Vertex products and clinical data, and equip them with tools for clinical conversations and patient education.
  • Build trust and confidence with healthcare providers, helping them identify treatment gaps.
  • Increase awareness of therapeutic areas and empower HCPs to recognize treatment opportunities.
  • Achieve call activity, adherence, and brand performance goals as set by the client.
  • Manage sample and literature requests accurately, follow up on product shipments, and maintain database entries.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for improvement to team leadership.
  • Comply with all company, PDMA, compliance, and regulatory policies.
  • Work independently from a remote home office.
  • Cultivate assigned virtual territories and be accountable for measurable results.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least 2 years of sales experience in outbound virtual/tele-sales or field sales, preferably in healthcare or pharma.
  • Pain management experience is preferred.
  • Launch experience is a plus.
  • Strong sales aptitude, documented results, and understanding of office calls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook, with ability to learn new software.
  • Excellent communication and rapport-building skills.
  • Ability to learn complex medical topics, adhere to compliance guidelines, and understand patient assistance, pharmacy, and insurance landscapes.
  • Confidence to converse with physicians and medical office staff.
  • Stable internet connection suitable for VoIP calls and virtual platforms.

EVERSANA offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $85,000, with actual compensation based on experience, qualifications, and location.
