Work Details:

Primarily Remote, 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday

Summary:

The Special Education Instructional Coach will collaborate with teachers and students with disabilities to enhance teaching quality and student learning across core content areas, focusing on specially designed instruction for students with disabilities.

Essential Functions:
  1. Demonstrate knowledge of Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) and support teachers in GSE implementation.
  2. Build strong collaborative relationships with teachers, administrators, and district staff.
  3. Assist teachers with resources, materials, and tools for instruction and planning.
  4. Apply knowledge of special education practices, accommodations, and regulations.
  5. Analyze student data to support instructional improvements.
  6. Support classroom management and climate through effective strategies.
  7. Review assessment data to evaluate teaching effectiveness.
  8. Advise on instructional strategies based on data trends.
  9. Model lessons and provide informal feedback to teachers.
  10. Participate in professional development and conduct training sessions.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Three years of successful special education teaching or equivalent experience.
  • GA PSC Educational Certificate and at least one P-12 Special Education Certification in Math or ELA.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Effective teaching strategies and curriculum assessment knowledge.
  • Strong desire to work with at-risk students and developing teachers.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • High technological proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree and leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel, data analysis, and SIS systems.
  • Experience in virtual education environments.
Work Environment:

This is a primarily remote position requiring in-person attendance several times a year for professional development and events. Must have reliable internet, a professional home office, and a valid driver’s license.
