ScholarMatch is seeking a full-time College Advisor to manage a caseload of students, provide mentorship, and help them navigate college life, from enrollment through graduation and into careers. Role involves virtual advising with colleagues in San Francisco and Los Angeles, leading group sessions, attending events, and documenting case notes while upholding confidentiality and equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling or social work preferred.
• Experience with first‑generation, low‑income students and comfort in direct communications.
• Advanced proficiency in GSuite and database management.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
• Comfort working in an anti‑racist organization with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of college students and provide personalized support via phone, text, and video meetings.
• Build relationships to help students navigate transitions into college and from college to career.
• Advise on academic strategies, financial aid, and campus/community engagement.
• Support students with problem-solving and campus resources.
• Hold office hours for additional support.
• Collaborate with program manager to address persistence challenges.
