Job summary

Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation invites applications for a Community Health Aide Trainee in Lower Kalskag. The position involves delivering primary and emergency care at village clinics, with travel to Bethel or other training sites for required sessions.

Eligible candidates should be a village resident or willing to relocate and complete CHP certification steps. Minimum education includes a high school diploma or GED; strong math, reading and English communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; ability to read, write and perform basic math.
• Must be a resident or relocate to a village for service as CHA/Practitioner.
• Must attend Health Aide Sessions I–IV to become CHP; EMT/ETT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary, urgent, chronic and preventive health care at village clinic.
• Offer emergency care and year-round coverage including summers.
• Be prepared for itinerant coverage to other YKHC villages as needed.
