Job summary

Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Alaska is seeking a Community Health Aide Trainee for full-time service in village clinics. You will provide primary health care, including acute, chronic and preventive care, and emergency care to residents of partner villages.

Responsibilities include year-round coverage, itinerant assignments to other YKHC villages, and travel to Bethel or other training sites for required sessions. Nomination by village council and CHP certification steps apply.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be nominated by Traditional or IRA Council of the village.
• Must attend Health Aide Sessions I-IV to become a CHP.
• Must be certified ETT or EMT.
• Able to read, write and perform math at 8th grade level (TABE).
• Travel to Bethel and/or other training sites as required.
• Year-round coverage including summers.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary health care (acute, chronic and preventive) and emergency care at village clinic.
• Willing to provide itinerant coverage to other YKHC villages.
• May serve as Lead Health Aide in some cases.
• Travel to Bethel or other training sites for required trainings.
