Job summary

Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC) invites qualified CHAPs to serve in rural southwest Alaska villages. You will provide primary, preventive and emergency care in village clinics, with itinerant coverage as needed. Travel to Bethel and training sites is required.

The position requires relocation to a village, English proficiency, and commitment to year-round coverage and community health services across the YKHC network.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED; demonstrate reading, writing and basic math at 8th grade level per TABE.
• Positive work history; must be nominated by the village council for CHAP service.
• Attend Health Aide Sessions I–IV to become certified CHP.
• Must be certified ETT or EMT.
• If rehired, meet YKHC re-entry guidelines.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and email.
• Proficient with RPMS and Telehealth within 3 months of hire.
• Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide; compute rates, ratios, percents.
• Language skills: read, understand simple instructions and present information.
• May be tasked to be a Lead Health Aide.
