Job summary

Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation seeks a Community Health Aide/Practitioner to deliver primary, acute, chronic and emergency care at village clinics across the Yukon-Kuskokwim region. The role requires relocation to a village or current residence in a village, with readiness to travel to Bethel for trainings.

You must be able to communicate in English and ideally speak the local village language, be willing to participate in ongoing trainings, and provide year-round coverage including summers.

Qualifications

• Must be a resident of the village or relocate to the village for service as a Community Health Aide/Practitioner.
• Ability to communicate in English and prefer the local language of the village.
• Willing and able to travel to Bethel and/or other training sites for basic training sessions and required trainings.
• Participate in preventative and chronic care activities as appropriate to level of training.
• Abide by CHAP policies and procedures during training and in the village.
• Provide year round coverage including summers.
• Willing to provide itinerant (“float”) coverage to other YKHC villages as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary, acute, chronic and preventive health care and emergency care at the village clinic.
• May be tasked to be a Lead Health Aide.
