Job summary

Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation seeks a Community Health Aide Trainee to deliver primary, preventive, and emergency care in a village clinic. The role requires residency in the village (or relocation) and willingness to travel for training at Bethel and other sites.

The candidate should demonstrate reading, writing, and basic math skills, plus English proficiency; IPA-related language skills are a plus. Training to CHP required after onboarding, with itinerant coverage across YKHC villages.

Qualifications

• Must be a resident of the village or willing to relocate to the village.
• Must communicate in English; ability to speak local village language preferred.
• Must be able to travel to Bethel or other training sites for basic and required trainings.
• Able to provide year-round coverage including summers.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary (acute, chronic and preventive) health care and emergency care at the village clinic.
• Coordinate with supervisory staff for itinerant coverage as assigned.
• Attend Health Aide sessions to advance to CHP certification.
