Job summary

YKHC is seeking Community Health Aide/Practitioners to provide comprehensive health services in village clinics across rural southwest Alaska. You will deliver primary and emergency care, participate in preventive and chronic care activities, and relocate or float between villages as required by staffing needs.

Candidates must be 18+, have a HS diploma or GED, and be willing to complete CHP certification via Health Aide sessions I–IV; EMT/ETT certification is required.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, and perform math at basic level as needed.
• Must attend Health Aide Sessions I–IV to become CHP certified.
• Must be certified ETT or EMT.
• Able to travel to Bethel or other training sites for required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary, acute, chronic, and preventive health care at village clinics.
• Deliver emergency care as needed.
• Participate in preventative and chronic care activities.
• Provide year-round coverage including summers.
• Willing and able to float to other YKHC villages as assigned.
