Job summary

PACE People partners with an established renewable energy business in the US to appoint a VP of Project Finance to support the financing and execution of renewable energy projects across the portfolio.

The VP will structure, negotiate and close debt financings, work with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, and guide investment decisions and capital allocation. This is a senior role with broad exposure to investment strategy and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in project finance, infrastructure finance, or renewable energy investment.
• Strong understanding of financing structures across energy and infrastructure assets.
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities.
• Experience working with banks, lenders, investors, and advisers.
• Excellent commercial judgement and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex transactions and stakeholder groups.
• Strong communication skills and confidence with senior internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structuring and execution of project finance transactions across renewable energy assets.
• Manage debt financing processes, including lender engagement, term sheet negotiation, due diligence and financial close.
• Build and review detailed financial models for project financing, investment and valuation.
• Evaluate financing structures and identify appropriate sources of capital.
• Coordinate with development, commercial, legal, tax and investment teams throughout transactions.
• Manage relationships with banks, institutional investors, advisers and other external stakeholders.
• Support negotiations across financing documentation and key commercial agreements.
• Assess project risks, sensitivities, returns and financing assumptions to support investment decisions.
• Provide strategic input into portfolio financing and capital allocation.
• Mentor junior finance team members.

Our client is an established renewable energy business operating across the US market, with a growing portfolio of clean energy projects and a strong focus on long term investment and project delivery.

As the business continues to expand, they are looking to appoint an experienced VP of Project Finance to support the financing and execution of renewable energy projects across their portfolio.

The Role

The VP of Project Finance will play a key role in structuring, negotiating, and executing financing solutions for renewable energy projects.

Working closely with senior leadership, development, commercial and investment teams, you will lead complex project finance transactions and support projects through development, construction and operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structuring and execution of project finance transactions across renewable energy assets.
• Manage debt financing processes, including lender engagement, term sheet negotiation, due diligence and financial close.
• Build, review and oversee detailed financial models for project financing, investment and valuation purposes.
• Evaluate financing structures and identify the most appropriate sources of capital across the portfolio.
• Coordinate with internal development, commercial, legal, tax and investment teams throughout transaction processes.
• Manage relationships with banks, institutional investors, financial advisers and other external stakeholders.
• Support negotiations across financing documentation and key commercial agreements.
• Assess project risks, sensitivities, returns and financing assumptions to support investment decisions.
• Provide strategic input into portfolio financing and capital allocation.
• Support and mentor junior members of the finance team where required.

About You

You will have significant experience within project finance, infrastructure finance, or renewable energy investment, with a strong understanding of financing structures across energy and infrastructure assets.

You will ideally bring:

• Extensive project finance experience within renewable energy, power or infrastructure.
• A strong track record of executing complex debt financing transactions.
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities.
• Strong understanding of project economics, capital structures, and investment returns.
• Experience working with banks, lenders, investors, and advisers.
• Excellent commercial judgement and negotiation skills.
• The ability to manage multiple complex transactions and stakeholder groups simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior internal and external stakeholders.
