Base pay range

$250,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yr

Vice President of Engineering, QA, & IT Operations

Our client, a mission-driven, growth-stage healthtech company, is seeking a Vice President of Engineering, Quality Assurance, and IT Operations to lead their end-to-end technology organization. This role will report directly to the CEO and play a key part in shaping the company’s technical vision, delivering secure and scalable software, and supporting a fast-evolving platform that’s helping modernize clinical trials.

About the Company:

This U.S.-based startup is transforming patient recruitment for clinical trials using data-driven strategies, digital engagement, and operational excellence. Their work directly supports faster medical breakthroughs by connecting eligible patients to life-changing research more efficiently.

What You'll Do:

• Define and lead the overall technology vision across engineering, QA, and IT Ops
• Build and scale high-performing technical teams, while maintaining a hands-on, strategic approach
• Oversee design, development, and deployment of secure, scalable software systems
• Implement modern QA frameworks and automation to drive product reliability
• Maintain and scale a robust IT infrastructure with high standards for security, uptime, and compliance
• Ensure regulatory alignment (e.g., HIPAA) across all tech systems
• Collaborate with leadership on product direction, resource planning, and technology investments
• Support innovation efforts, including AI/ML-based tooling and automation initiatives

What We're Looking For:

• 10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in senior leadership (VP or similar)
• Proven ability to lead engineering, QA, and IT operations in a fast-paced environment
• Strong background in cloud architecture (AWS preferred), DevOps, and agile methodologies
• Hands-on experience with QA strategy and automation tooling
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, data security, and compliance (especially in healthcare/life sciences)
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Passion for improving healthcare through technology

Bonus if you have:

• Experience in clinical trials, healthtech, or other regulated industries
• Familiarity with data privacy frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR)
• Exposure to AI/ML technologies and data platforms
