Team Overview:

We’re looking for a Senior Vice President of Software Engineering to lead our software engineering organization. The scope is wide, spanning embedded software in Impinj developed reader ICs, to ML on resource constrained devices, to enterprise SaaS and hybrid-cloud data services. The candidate will have proven experience in software architecture and business models, direct enterprise customer engagements, deep technical software-engineering know-how, strong leadership skills and an unwavering desire to advance employee careers and success.

What you will do:
  • Lead, mentor, inspire and grow our software-engineering organization, today comprising more than 80 engineers
  • Engage directly with our go-to-market and executive-leadership teams to create roadmaps, timelines and deliverables as well as own development from prototype to product, including continuous integration, quality and releases
  • Advance Impinj’s existing embedded reader and reader IC software including protocol stack, firmware, board support packages and applications
  • Build and scale high-growth, enterprise SaaS and hybrid-cloud data-services from the ground up, including productizing Impinj’s ML toolkit to solve enterprise RFID challenges
  • Define & deliver the product roadmap for core platform services: Cloud-based resolution, AI/ML-powered analytics, cryptographic identity, fraud detection, data sharing and chained provenance
  • Oversee multi-tenant SaaS architectures, enterprise-grade APIs, developer ecosystems, enterprise-facing applications and analytics dashboards
  • Collaborate with Impinj hardware engineering, applications engineering, product management, partners and end users to deliver vertically integrated solutions—from IC to cloud to application
What you bring:
  • 15+ years of experience building and leading world-class software engineering teams with a strong delivery focus, a proven track record of results and unwavering integrity and respect
  • Proven success with high-growth, cloud-native platforms
  • Experience building zero-to-one SaaS or data services with a multi-billion-dollar TAM
  • Deep understanding of enterprise technology buying behavior, cloud architecture, developer ecosystems and platform economics
  • Strong technical fluency in embedded systems, AI/ML, cryptographic identity and edge computing
  • Strategic mindset with strong execution orientation; able to think big, start small and scale fast
  • Experience working in cross-functional leadership teams and driving alignment across product, engineering, sales, finance and operations
  • Passion for partnering directly with enterprise customers to transform global industries and shape the future of connected physical infrastructure
Compensation and Benefits:

The benefits listed below may vary depending on the nature of your employment with Impinj and the country where you work.

The typical base pay range for this role across the US is $236,250 to $378,000. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties, requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Both market wage data and the mid-point of the pay range is reviewed and used as the starting point for all new hire offers. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.

At Impinj certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
