We specialize in retirement planning for middle-class clients with investable assets ranging from $300,000 to $5,000,000. Our comprehensive suite of financial services includes annuities, equities, life insurance, and tax planning solutions for clients preparing for retirement. Our mission is to help clients achieve financial security and peace of mind as they plan for and enjoy retirement.

Location: Remote – Major Metropolitan Area in the US, excluding the following states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington.

Position Summary: The Vice President of Sales – Retirement Planning will lead and implement the company’s sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and enhance market presence. This executive will manage a team of sales professionals across several major metropolitan areas, focusing on delivering exceptional retirement planning services to our target clients. The role involves developing and executing sales processes and conducting pipeline reviews for accurate forecasting while continuously iterating and refining the company's successful proprietary sales methods and, most importantly, coaching team members to success. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in retirement planning products, a proven track record in sales leadership, and the ability to foster a high-performing, client-focused sales environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership: Iterate and lead the company’s sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue targets. Led sales teams across major metropolitan cities, ensuring consistent performance and alignment with company objectives.
  • Client Acquisition: Design and implement strategies targeting middle-class individuals and families with investable assets between $300,000 and $5,000,000. Ensure that the sales teams effectively communicate the value of our retirement planning services, including annuities, equities, life insurance, and tax planning.
  • Influence-Based Sales Culture: Cultivate an influence-based sales culture rooted in behavioral science and persuasion principles. Train and develop sales teams to use these methodologies to build trust, influence client decisions, and drive sales success.
  • Coaching and Advisor Development: Recruit, nurture, and develop advisors at all levels. Identify talent at different stages of capabilities and coach them to full competency using our proven system (the training team will support you). Inspire emerging advisors to achieve outstanding performance. Motivate established advisors to realize their full potential.
  • Pipeline Management and Sales Forecasting: Conduct regular pipeline reviews to assess the status of ongoing sales activities. Utilize these reviews to develop accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts. Collaborate with the finance team to align forecasts with company-wide financial planning and budgeting.
  • Product Expertise: Maintain deep knowledge of all retirement planning products offered by the company, including annuities, equities, life insurance, and tax planning solutions. Train and equip the sales teams with product knowledge to advise clients confidently.
  • Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders. Work closely with the marketing and product development teams to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
  • Sales Operations: Oversee sales operations, including the rigorous utilization of CRM management, sales forecasting, and reporting. I also ensure that the sales teams across all offices operate efficiently and effectively, with transparent processes and tools in place.
  • Recruiting: Implement recruiting strategies to support market expansion and Top grading of the existing team.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Ensure all sales activities comply with industry regulations and company policies across all offices. Uphold the highest standards of ethics and integrity in all client interactions.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the financial planning services or wealth management industry, with at least five years in a senior sales leadership role of a team producing over $250,000,000 annually.
  • Appropriate Licenses: Series 65 or 7 and 66. State Health and Life Insurance License
  • Clean U4
  • Proven track record of successfully leading, coaching/developing, and growing sales teams in a fast-paced, competitive environment, preferably across multiple metropolitan areas.
  • Extensive knowledge of retirement planning products, including annuities, equities, life insurance, and tax planning.
  • Strong experience in pipeline management and sales forecasting, with a demonstrated ability to develop accurate and actionable forecasts.
  • Expertise in influence-based sales methodologies, with experience in training and developing sales teams in these techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, building client rapport and motivating sales teams across various regions.
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to sales management and decision-making.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to oversee regional offices.
