The Vice President of Sales will lead the sales strategy and execution for a branded ingredient and supplement company specializing in the fungi and functional food industry. This executive role is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and building a high-performance sales organization targeting B2B clients such as health practitioners, retailers, manufacturers, and strategic partners. The VP of Sales will report directly to the CEO and work closely with cross-functional teams to align sales initiatives with overall business objectives.

**This is a fully remote position

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets in the functional food and supplement markets.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a team of sales professionals, including Sales Directors, Managers, and Representatives, fostering a results-driven culture.
  • Identify and cultivate key relationships with health practitioners, resellers, retailers, and manufacturing partners, both domestically and internationally.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform sales tactics and product positioning.
  • Set, monitor, and report on sales KPIs and performance metrics, ensuring accountability and transparency across the team.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, and performance management of sales staff, ensuring continuous professional development.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and operations to support go-to-market initiatives and new product launches.
  • Manage sales budgets, forecasts, and P&L responsibilities, ensuring profitable growth and cost efficiency.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level reports and presentations to the board and senior leadership.
  • Negotiate and close high-value deals, ensuring long-term client satisfaction and repeat business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the supplement, ingredient, or functional food industry.
  • Demonstrated success in B2B sales to health practitioners, retailers, and/or manufacturers in the USA; global experience is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement sales strategies that drive growth and profitability.
  • Experience with CRM systems, sales analytics, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • High level of professionalism and executive presence.

  • Deep understanding of the functional food and supplement regulatory environment.
  • Established network within the health, wellness, and nutrition sectors.
  • Experience scaling sales teams in high-growth companies.

Compensation: $140,000-160,000 plus bonus and equity
