Shield Technology Partners (“STP”) was founded in October 2024 to partner with and drive growth in Technology MSP organizations across the United States. STP creates value by partnering with established local companies, allowing owner-operators to operate independently while receiving resources and hands-on operational expertise to further scale their businesses.

STP is growing rapidly, typically partnering with 1-2 businesses per month. The company has substantial committed capital to continue growing over the coming years, backed by ZBS Partners, which manages over $800 million in assets dedicated to funding platform businesses like STP.

ZBS Partners was founded by two partners with a strong track record of building, scaling, and exiting platforms across industries, both of whom are integral to STP’s growth.

Position Summary

The Head of Sales will lead the growth strategy for Shield Technology Partners and its MSP partners, focusing on business development, lead generation, and supporting local teams with tools and frameworks to drive expansion and retention.

This role suits someone who enjoys solving challenges, uniting teams, and achieving results in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should be capable of building from the ground up while supporting local teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead business development: Coach teams on go-to-market strategies, messaging, outbound sales, and marketing.
  • Build and implement tools and resources: Empower local account managers and client success teams to deliver results.
  • Develop training and community programs: Upskill sales teams and foster collaboration across MSP partners.
  • Drive customer expansion: Create strategies to increase client spend.
  • Ensure customer retention: Equip teams with effective playbooks and support.
  • Develop strategic partnerships: Expand through channel sales and industry relationships.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • 10+ years of sales leadership experience in IT MSPs.
  • Proven success scaling sales teams and generating $50M+ in revenue.
  • Deep understanding of MSP business models, sales cycles, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Strong track record in coaching sales teams and closing high-value deals.
  • Experience managing strategic partnerships and complex sales.
  • Proficient in CRM tools, pipeline management, and sales automation.
  • Willingness to travel for meetings and industry events.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in roll-up or buy-and-build platforms.
  • Prior experience with private equity.
Education and Work Experience
  • No formal education requirements.
  • Proven operational experience in the IT Managed Services space.
