Senior Director / VP, Business Development – Therapeutics Exchange (Buy/Sell Licensing)

An AI-enabled life sciences company is looking for an entrepreneurial Senior Director or Vice President of Business Development to lead the growth of its Therapeutics Exchange business — a platform facilitating in- and out-licensing of drug assets across multiple therapeutic areas.

This role focuses on building a vibrant marketplace where pharma and biotech companies can buy and sell drug candidates, with full due diligence and strategic insight powered by advanced AI tools. The exchange includes assets from internal wet lab programs, indication expansions generated via the AI platform, and mandates from external clients.

With an IPO planned in the next two years and an expanding commercial presence in the US, this is a high-visibility role with significant strategic impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Therapeutics Exchange commercial strategy, driving both in-licensing and out-licensing activity.
• Secure mandates from pharma and biotech clients to source, evaluate, and transact on drug assets.
• Oversee due diligence processes, ensuring robust scientific and commercial evaluation.
• Build relationships with asset owners, buyers, and strategic partners to expand deal flow.
• Collaborate with scientific teams to position internal pipeline assets for out-licensing opportunities.
• Negotiate and close licensing agreements that deliver value to all stakeholders.

Key Requirements

• Strong track record in drug licensing, asset transactions, or deal-making in the pharma/biotech sector.
• Established network within pharma, biotech, and investment communities.
• Understanding of drug discovery and development processes, including scientific and commercial evaluation criteria.
• Experience leading complex negotiations across multiple stakeholders.
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving, growth-stage company environment.
