Our portfolio company is a cutting-edge Series A cybersecurity vendor experiencing rapid growth, driven by their innovative platform that unifies ingestion, scalability and governance. They are disrupting the market by being at the forefront of addressing the complex challenges in the cybersecurity big data arena. We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented VP of Marketing to own their revenue marketing and demand generation engine, directly contributing to their ambitious growth targets.

About the Role:

As the VP of Marketing, you will be a pivotal member of their leadership team, responsible for building, leading, and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy with a laser focus on revenue generation and demand creation. You will architect their marketing efforts to deliver high-quality, sales-ready leads, accelerate pipeline velocity, and enhance brand visibility across our target enterprise market. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on execution, team leadership, and a deep understanding of the cybersecurity/B2B tech landscape.

What You'll Do:

  • Revenue Marketing Strategy: Develop and lead the overarching marketing strategy to drive predictable, scalable, and measurable revenue growth, aligning closely with sales objectives and targets.
  • Demand Generation Leadership: Own the end-to-end demand generation engine, including strategy, execution, and optimization across all channels (digital marketing, content syndication, webinars, events, account-based marketing (ABM), paid media, SEO, social media, email campaigns, etc.).
  • Pipeline & Funnel Optimization: Continuously analyze and optimize the marketing and sales funnel to improve conversion rates from lead to opportunity to closed-won revenue, with a strong focus on Net New Logos.
  • Sales & Marketing Alignment (Smarketing): Foster a strong, collaborative relationship with the Sales leadership and team, establishing clear SLAs for lead handoff, qualification, and follow-up. Implement joint campaigns and enablement programs.
  • Content Strategy & Oversight: Define and oversee the content strategy that fuels demand generation, thought leadership, and sales enablement, ensuring content resonates with target personas and addresses their pain points.
  • Brand & Awareness: Elevate [Company Name]'s brand awareness and market positioning as a leader in [mention core product area, e.g., "security data fabric" or "observability"].
  • Marketing Operations & Analytics: Establish robust marketing operations, automation (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot), and analytics capabilities. Implement a data-driven approach to measure campaign performance, ROI, and pipeline contribution, providing actionable insights.
  • Team Building & Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and inspire a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to continuously refine marketing strategies and product positioning.

What You Bring:

  • 8+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Head of Marketing, VP of Marketing) at a B2B technology company.
  • Proven Track Record in Revenue Marketing/Demand Generation: Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategies that directly contributed to significant revenue growth and net new logo acquisition in an enterprise sales motion.
  • Deep Domain Expertise: Strong understanding and hands-on experience selling security, observability, and/or data pipeline products (e.g., MDR, SIEM, observability platforms, data pipeline platforms like Cribl).
  • Early-Stage Startup Experience (Mandatory): Experience building and scaling marketing functions in a Series A or early-stage, fast-growth technology company. Comfortable with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and wearing multiple hats.
  • Exceptional Leadership & Management Skills: Proven ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing marketing teams.
  • Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Ability to translate market insights and business goals into actionable marketing strategies, with a strong command of marketing analytics, metrics, and ROI measurement.
  • Strong Collaboration Skills: Demonstrated ability to build consensus and drive alignment with sales, product, and executive leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
